ANOTHER GOLD FOR NAFAS !

AT THE RHS PLANT & DESIGN SHOW, LONDON - 14 & 15 FEBRUARY 2012

Mildred Stafford and Kathleen Marlor, from the Northumberland & Durham Area of NAFAS, created a beautiful exhibit entitled Awakening, capturing the brief period when Winter gradually gives way to Spring.

Different styles of design were incorporated, from natural to contemporary, also using some of nature's own sculptures.  The tall silver trunks of the trees give height and depth to the design; the rotting moss covered stumps add contrasting forms and textures.

Rhythm is created by using the soft delicate green stumps of cornus.  A patchwork of mosses, flowers, foliage and bulbs as natural ground cover.
