A new NAFAS Education Handbook was launched at National Show Southport.  This book is a good source of reference for trainee Judges and Demonstrators as it includes all foliage and flowers on their plant lists.  It is also an ideal guide for anyone interested in flower arranging.

The book is divided into two parts - Section 1 covers garden plant material and Section 2 covers purchased cut material and house plants.  Over 200 colour photographs are included to provide easy identification.

The National Education Committee is one of the eight standing committees and meets three times a year at Osborne House.  This committee works to promote the educational aims of NAFAS, encouraging members and the general public in the skills of floral art and related subjects.  The committee is responsible for the production of Insight, the educational journal for flower arrangers and for educational leaflets and books.   It is also reponsible for the organisation of the NAFAS Certificates in Floral Art & Design, our accredited course registered with Oxford, Thames & Chiltern OCN.

Training days are organised by the committee for Junior Leaders, Area Education Representatives, Teachers and Internal Moderators.  The committee also organises and runs the ever-popular mini-teaching demonstrations at the National Show each year.
