Qualified Area and National Speakers are waiting for you to book them to entertain your Club or Area. They can speak at any sort of event on so many varied subjects and bring fascinating visual aids and fresh plant material to dress the stage. Exploring unusual and intriguing subjects allied to flowers and plants in a light hearted way is our speciality.

NEWS FOR NAFAS SPEAKERS
SPEAKERS IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Firstly, we congratulate Anne Drake on her presentation Dancing for Joy at the NAFAS Elizabethan Assembly, Hatfield. She enchanted the members present with her knwoledge of her subject and took us on a journey from the Elizabethan Era to the present day. Her graceful manner and appearance on stage held us spellbound on that first morning.

The two National Speakers at the NAFAS National Show in Edinburgh held their audiences with their enthusiasm and their expert knowledge. Beryl Cotton presented A Bizarre Affair in the miorning and Katherine Kear gave us Rosamundi in the afternoon; both presentations were interesting and captivating.
SPEAKING WITH SLIDES
This new qualification is being well received. It includes any form of projected image. Anyone who desires to take this qualification should enquire of their Area Speakers' Representative about any Tests that are being held in the near future. A bar badge is available for £12.50 from NAFAS Trading.

FUTURE TESTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
NATIONAL SPEAKERS
Congratulations to Jo Jacobs (South West) and Tan Strong (BB&O) who passed their National Speakers' Test at Ross-on-Wye on Thursday 23rd September 2008.
If you passed your Area Test two years ago, do contact the Speakers' Committee Chairman, Carol Black, as soon as possible so that training can be arranged.
ADJUDICATORS AND INSTRUCTORS
Congratulations to Carol Black (Cheshire) and Wendy Davis (Mercia & North Wales) who were successful in their final Adjudicators' paper at Ross-on-Wye on 23rd October 2008, qualifying as Accredited Adjudicators for Speakers' Test.
There is a great need for Adjudicators and Instructors. Two or three have offered themselves for training and a Training Programme is being put in place. Anyone else offering to join this group would be very warmly welcomed. Contact the Speakers' Committee Chairman for further information.
FUTURE GENERAL DAYS AND TESTS
The Northumberland & Durham Area are holding an Open Day next year. More details here later. The North Midlands Area have a Speakers' Test on 18 October 2008 at Oxton Village Hall.
