The Surrey Area of NAFAS was founded in 1960. We have 42 flower clubs that meet regularly for flower arranging demonstrations, talks and workshops. Surrey Area was honoured when three of their members became NAFAS National Presidents.
The Area was very proud to be asked to stage ‘Florimania’ by Hampton Court Palace in 2016. The Palace’s festival is held every year over the Mothering Sunday weekend and this continues to be a very popular event.
Also every week, except during the winter months, a team from the Area arranges Flowers in Ham House.
In association with the Royal Horticultural Society, the Surrey Area organise the Floral Art Competitions at the RHS Wisley Garden Flower Show. The competition is open to all NAFAS members.
Surrey Area members regularly arrangement flowers in Westminster Cathedral, this is a great privilege to be able to do and is enjoyed by all.
All this as well as the many shows and events Surrey Area Clubs organise and participate in.
Surrey Area is committed to encouraging children to explore the art of flower arranging and competition work to promote an enjoyment of floral art. Monthly workshops are held for hand-on experience of different techniques and to look at competition work and encourage participation in floral shows.
