NAFAS Announces Changes to the Board of Trustees

The National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies today announces changes to its Board of Directors with one longstanding NAFAS member standing down and two new Trustees joining the Board.

Joining the Board are: 

Jan Armitage

 

Jan Armitage who is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience of leading change and renewal in the corporate, governmental and charitable sectors.

Recently retired after six years with Peterborough Cathedral as COO/CFO, she delivered fundamental improvements to its financial operating model that enhanced its core religious and civic role.

She is also currently the volunteer administrator of the Calligraphy & Lettering Arts Society.

an has managed and been part of church flower arranging teams, although she would call herself very much an amateur. She is also a keen gardener and currently re-planting her new garden for more colour and cutting of flower as well as being a sailor!

Julie Carse who is the Corporate Governance Manager with Queen’s University, Belfast having previously worked with PwC Management Consultant, Belfast.

She brings over 25 years’ experience in governance and project management in both operational and consulting roles to the Board.

From 2010 to 2021 Julie was a Non-Executive Director and Trustee with Craft NI, the sector-lead body for the promotion and development of the design-led contemporary craft industry in Northern Ireland.

Julie is a keen flower arranger and gardener and is a Committee Member and Past Secretary of Comber Flower Club, Assistant Secretary of JDS&E NI and the returning Secretary of Ballynahinch Gardening Club.

Leaving the Board for personal and work commitment reasons is Julie Pearson, a multi-award winner at the Chelsea Flower Show amongst many other accomplishments.
 
Julie has served on the Board and just last week she organised and directed our video shoot for National Flower Arranging Day.
